For games like Cafeteria Nipponica on a phone, other Kairosoft games are the closest answer. On October 30, 2026, Cafeteria Nipponica was 1.95 USD on the US Google Play store and its free SP edition has ads and in-app purchases. Both carry the Offline label. On Steam it is 8.99 USD, Windows only, with Korean and Japanese among the supported languages. Outside Kairosoft, Pocket City (2.99 USD) is the closest phone game we found.

First: where Cafeteria Nipponica runs and what it costs

Before looking for games like Cafeteria Nipponica, check where the original runs. It is a Kairosoft management game where you find ingredients, make menus and grow a restaurant. Many searches never reach it because the game goes by different names in different countries.

On Steam it is 8.99 USD in the US store, 12,000 won in the Korean store (listed as a Korean title followed by Cafeteria Nipponica) and 1,280 yen in the Japanese store, where it is called 大盛グルメ食堂. Supported languages are English, Korean, Japanese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese and Thai, and the platform is Windows only.

On Google Play there are two editions. The paid one is 1.95 USD in the US store and 2,640 won in the Korean store. The free SP edition has ads and in-app purchases. Both Google Play pages carry the Offline label.

Price, monetization labels and the Offline label were read from the Google Play pages on October 30, 2026. Prices are US store dollars unless stated, and ratings are the values on the US page.

Staying inside Kairosoft: Dream House Days and Game Dev Story

If the pixel art and the mood are the point, staying inside Kairosoft is the safest choice. Dream House Days is free on Google Play with 5M+ installs. It has ads and in-app purchases and no Offline label.

Game Dev Story is a pay-once game at 4.49 USD and carries the Offline label. In Japan its store name is ゲーム発展国++ at 500 yen.

We could not confirm the in-game language options from the Google Play pages. If you need a specific language, read the store description before you buy.

Outside Kairosoft: Pocket City

Pocket City is a city builder from Codebrew Games. It is 2.99 USD on Google Play, carries the Offline label, and the page showed no ads or in-app purchase label. It has 1M+ installs and a 4.3 rating.

The theme is different from running a restaurant. It suits you if you would rather pay once and build quietly without ads.

Our own Idle Internet Cafe Tycoon: where it fits and where it is weak

Idle Internet Cafe Tycoon is a game we made at Dumb Game Lab. You start with a few used PCs and put what you earn back into seats and fixtures. The store description says it plays offline and that your staff keep the cafe running while the app is closed.

The weak points are plain. It does not use pixel art, so it has none of Kairosoft's mood. It is a new release with 100+ installs and no rating yet. It lacks the Play Offline label, so the offline claim goes only as far as the store description. It has ads.

How to choose

Going in this order saves you from buying the wrong one.

  • Try the free Cafeteria Nipponica SP first to see whether restaurant management suits you.
  • If it does, move on to the paid edition, Dream House Days or Game Dev Story.
  • If you do not need the Kairosoft look and want something quiet with no ads, take Pocket City.
  • If you need a specific language, Steam lists Korean and Japanese for Cafeteria Nipponica. For the phone version, check before buying.
  • If you want a free short idle game, try Idle Internet Cafe Tycoon.

How this list was made, and its limits

We read the Google Play pages (US, Korea and Japan) and the Steam store page on October 30, 2026. Ratings and install counts are that day's values and change, and ratings can look different between countries, so we used the US page. We did not check the App Store this time.

We could not confirm the in-game languages of the mobile versions. The Offline label for Game Dev Story is from the English listing, and we did not check the Japanese listing separately. All of this is what the store pages say, not a verdict from playing each game.
